In American there are several big “Blue Holes” all around the world but the Great Blue Hole of Belize is probably the most impressive of them all. The hole is a submerged sinkhole, it has a terrifying 125 meters vertical drop to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. The blue hole is located in the middle of the Lighthouse Reef, situated about 65 kilometers to the east of Belize City’s shoreline. The famous French Naval Explorer, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, once said that the Great Blue Hole is of the world’s top 10 diving locations.
